Inactive Registrant in Event Tag

It seems to be just fine if their record is inactive when added to a tag, but if they are in the tag and then made inactive it makes them inactive in the tag.

We found that in event tags this year --if the person was inactive when they got added to the event --they came into the event as inactive. I had to make their record active and change the status to active in the event.

First time I'm hearing about this. Guess a few questions would come up, assuming that that are getting set to inactive in the tag based on their record status (have not confirmed this yet).

First, would you want an inactive record to be able to register for events or groups and remain inactive? Right now when you mark a record inactive, it automatically sets them to inactive in all tags and groups (after warning the user of such changes).

Second, if you do allow them to sign up, should that record remain inactive, or get switched to active status? I could see this causing some issues since a record status might have been set to inactive for a reason, and I can see many organizations wanting to deal with that status change manually as additional actions might need to be taken at that time.

I'm sure there's a ton of other potential areas that need to be considered as well, just the two major ones that stand out off the top of my head.

I am not going 100% sure on this --we are using some custom online event registration features, but I know for our 2 large children's camps we had several be added to the events as inactive. So we had to filter to find them.

I would say that since we have lots of "participants" that do not normally attend here, then I would want to allow an inactive record to be able to come into an event as active, but yes I would like to be able to find these and change their record status as well. It just does cause issues if we have limits set when they come in as inactive and are not counted as active towards the limit.
