Is there a way to have a iCalendar or RSS feed go into the calendar on the Member Responsive portal? Or would it be easier to integrate a different calendar outside of the existing one?
We use the XML File Transformation module to display external feeds within various Arena portals. It's not really data coming into Arena or integrating, just displaying it within. This works well enough for our needs. We use the regular calendar differently (primarily for things needing registration), so they both coexist independently.
So for the data that is displaying(i.e. a calendar) how do you link that in? Where do you get XML file path?
You add the XML File Transformation module to that page. Then you put in the settings for that module the URL for the feed (which will vary depending on your source...for us, it's the same as the ical and RSS feeds but with a flag to tell it to send straight XML instead). Then you provide the path on your server for an XSLT file that you have developed to format the feed.
Here is the site I am trying to embed. https://73965194.view-events.com/calendar/73965194/ Can I find the XML file using inspect or do I have to go elsewhere to find it?
I'm not familiar with MyCurchEvents.com's API interface, etc. Their help has a lead: https://help.mychurchevents.com/search?collectionId=5b579a452c7d3a03f89cf2ce&query=api You may end up needing to use the RSS Reader module (plus creating a CSS file to format it) instead of XML if they don't offer the XML feed. They do offer the RSS feed. For us, it's as simple as changing &format=rss to &format=xml in the URL, but we're using ServiceU at the moment.
