Issue: I am trying to add a new user to Financials but it says that the username is already in use.
There are two possibilities/solutions:
- Someone has a similar name and actually has the same login (ex. John Smith and Jane Smith would both be JSmith)
- For this you will just have to use a different log in (JSmith2 or JaneS, etc.)
- The person already has this login but it doesn’t show in Financials because it is an Arena only login.
- For this just click the “not set” and select the person that already exists in the database—the person in Arena who has this login—rather than typing in the name to create a new record.
Additional Information: In Shelby Next Financials, every login is associated with a person record. When creating a user you can either attach it to an existing record, or create a new person record.
If you type name in the first and last name boxes when creating a login, it creates a new person record with that first and last name and no other information. However, if you are creating a login for an employee that already exists in the database you will want to click “not set” next to the name field and search for that employee’s record in the database.
